Review

From the reviews:

“This is an excellent book covering the latest in the pathology, histology, animal models, and stem cell research regarding acute spinal cord damage. … There is a good audience to neurologists, neurosurgeons, research fellows, and medical students working in SCI Research. I highly recommend this book to all interested audiences.” (Joseph J. Grenier, Amazon.com, March, 2014)

Neuroprotection & Neuroregeneration of the Spinal Cord
Springer, New York, Heidelberg, Berlin
Joseph J Grenier MD PhD

This is an excellent book covering the latest in the pathology, histology, animal models, and stem cell research regarding acute spinal cord damage. First it highlights both the old and new models of rodent spinal cord injury. The data is top quality including several fluorescent light microscopic slides, and histology work on the compressed cord. A separate chapter is devoted to cervical kyphoscoliotic damage using CT, and MRI image data. There is a separate model of compression looking at the biomathematical and engineering aspects to the contribution as a whole.

There is a good audience to neurologists, neurosurgeons, research fellows, and medical students working in SCI Research. I highly recommend this book to all interested audiences. Thank you to Springer for permission to review this and several other books on spinal cord surgery.
